SDG SmART Art Competition to advance sustainable lifestyles through the arts in St. Kitts and Nevis

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts – April 6th, 2018. The Caribbean Sustainable Environmental Awareness Organisation (CSEAO) in collaboration with the UNDP Small Grants Programme, invites nationals and residents of St.Kitts-Nevis to participate in “SDG SmART” Contest.

Individuals or groups must submit one original piece based on any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals outlined at www.sustainabledevelopment.un.org up until the contest end date, May 18th, 2018 at 3pm. To submit, participants must visit www.cseao.org, complete the registration form provided, and submit all artwork via the upload portal. A 100-150 word summary is required along with your digital art piece or photo/copy of the physical art piece.

Please note that all physical art pieces are to be delivered to the Small Grants Programme Office located on West Independence Square Street, Basseterre.

Chad Powell, CSEAO President encourages all nationals and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis to participate in the contest.  He states “Not only will locals get to showcase their artistic abilities and talent in both visual and performing arts, they also get the opportunity to research and learn about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and hopefully are inspired to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle or actively pursue projects that are geared towards achieving the SDGs”

Contest prizes will be awarded in two separate categories, being Visual Arts and Performing Arts. The first prize winner would be awarded with US$1000, with US$500 and US$200 for second and third consecutively. Also, up for grabs would be the People’s Choice Award of US$100.
